The OCSA has formally met with the Ministry of Economic Development committee as well as presented to the Pre budget committee the three priorities of the C store industry:
A) 2 % increase in lottery commissions for all retailers to help offset the costs of business during COVID 19.
B) Move ahead (as promised) with the Beverage alcohol file by allowing beer sales in C stores and supporting Craft Brewers throughout Ontario.
C) Find solutions for the illegal contraband tobacco market in Ontario where C stores are losing valuable customers to reserve shops due to untaxed, unregulated cigarettes flooding the Ontario market. This has gone far to long with past governments and time for a level playing field.
