The Ontario Convenience Stores Association is pleased to welcome JUUL Labs as its newest associate member.

JUUL Labs is a technology company dedicated to eliminating cigarettes by offering existing adult smokers an alternative to combustible cigarettes. Their product, JUUL, is a closed-pod nicotine vaping system, which will be available for purchase in convenience stores in September.

JUUL Labs and the OCSA are aligned on the importance of responsible retailing when it comes to age-restricted products, as JUUL Labs is categorical that JUUL is a product for adult smokers only, is not intended for underage use, and should not be sold at retail to underage.

Ontario convenience stores are well-equipped to sell age-restricted products responsibly. In 2017, mystery shopping checks for Smoke Free Ontario conducted by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care found our stores to be over 95 per cent successful at checking ID and denying the sale of age-restricted products to minors.

We are proud that our stores consistently demonstrate that they are responsible community retailers – committed to the highest standards in Ontario.

Welcome, JUUL Labs!
