Family run convenience stores throughout Ontario are being recognized by the Ontario government for their hard work and dedication to every community in the province.
Every convenience store is encouraged to participate in Convenience Store Week during the week of August 28 -September 4, 2021.
The goal is to raise funds for the Children’s Hospitals of Ontario.
Local communities helping local hospitals.
Invite your local MPP or MP to stop in and take some photos for social media or work behind the counter greeting customers for an hour.
Encourage suppliers to offer a promotion where a small percentage goes to charity during the week to help those less fortunate.
MPP Stan Cho received Royal Assent for his private members Bill proclaiming the last week of August every year in Ontario as ‘Convenience Store Week’.
The OCSA has spent endless hours developing and promoting this week over the years and is proud to see the Office of the Premier of Ontario dedicated a week to the convenience store industry.
The four Children’s Foundation Hospitals in Ontario will be the beneficiaries of the dedicated week though customer and industry donations to the families in need and are dedicated to Ontario families with all donations staying here in Ontario:
- CHEO in Ottawa
- Children’s Hospital in London
- McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton
- Toronto Sick Kids Hospital
Our members are appreciative that this week has been recognized by all political parties in Ontario and honoured to see this come to fruition.
Independent retailers, distributors, & customers will be encouraged to support this wonderful week starting August 28 in Ontario.
Special thanks to MPP Stan Cho for his dedication and passion for our industry.
Let’s work together informing our customers while promoting our industries greatest achievements during this dedicated week!
100% of all donations stay in Ontario and go directly to the four children’s hospitals.
