Ontario Convenience Stores Association teams up with SickKids Foundation to give back to local communities on C-Store Day

On August 28, stop by your local convenience store to support children’s healthcare and enjoy fun activities.

The Ontario Convenience Stores Association (OCSA) is the proud founder of C-Store Day in Ontario – a yearly event where independent and regional convenience store chains across the province partner with community leaders to fundraise for local children’s charities. This year, OCSA has partnered with SickKids Foundation and its regional partner charities. All funds raised on Wednesday August 28 will go toward supporting their work to improve children’s health.

As local community businesses, convenience stores are always looking for ways to build stronger relationships with their customers and the organizations that are important to them. C-Store Day is a great opportunity to do this and thank the customers that help support convenience stores, many of which are independent small businesses, across Ontario.

On C-Store Day, community leaders become store employees – local MPPs, MPs, Mayors, as well as EMS professionals and local law enforcement officers take turns serving customers, pumping gas, and running in-store giveaways and special promotions.

“I’d encourage customers to come out to their local convenience store to participate in this event,” said Dave Bryans, President, OCSA. “C-Store Day is a great way to bring communities together, have fun, and most importantly, support local charities that are doing amazing work for children.”

This year’s in-store event will raise funds for several remarkable charities, including Children’s Health Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, SickKids Foundation and CHEO Foundation. These fundraising efforts will help improve the lives of thousands of children who rely on health care professionals at Ontario’s four children’s hospitals for specialized treatment, therapy and services. Proceeds support the highest priority needs in the hospitals, that include critical research, education, the purchase life-saving equipment, and ensure excellence in care.
